Kundan jewellery is jewellery set in the Kundan technique: each stone is pressed into a gold-tone frame with a thin reflective foil behind it. Sirini's Kundan range is gold-plated imitation jewellery over brass or copper, nearly 400 designs from Rs 360 nose rings to bridal necklace sets at Rs 21,824.

Kundan is Sirini's house signature — a traditional Rajasthani and Mughal-era setting technique, not a stone in itself. Stones (or glass, in our imitation and fashion pieces) are set into a gold-toned base using a foiling technique, where a thin reflective foil sits behind the stone to give it that distinctive flat-topped glow, rather than the faceted sparkle of a cut diamond.

Every piece in this collection is handcrafted in our own Mumbai workshop, founded by Nishit Savla in 2017 — genuine Kundan setting technique, imitation and fashion jewellery, not gold, diamond, or precious metal. Many of our Kundan pieces pair the setting with Meenakari enamel work on the reverse, and some use Polki-style uncut stone shapes for a more organic sparkle — so a single necklace set, earring pair, or bangle can layer two or three traditional techniques into one piece.

More Kundan questions

What is the most affordable Kundan piece?

Kundan nose rings start at Rs 360, and Kundan finger rings start at Rs 360 with the Festive Oval Kundan Ring.

Is Kundan the same as Polki?

No. Kundan is the setting technique, while Polki describes a flat, uncut-look stone. Many Sirini pieces combine the two; see the Polki collection.

About Kundan

How can I tell Kundan from ordinary stone-set jewellery?

Look at a stone from the side. In Kundan each stone sits on a thin reflective foil inside a raised gold-toned setting, which gives the flat-topped glow. Sirini hand-sets its Kundan pieces in our Mumbai workshop, and there are 394 designs in this collection.

Which Kundan pieces suit a wedding and which suit a festival?

For a wedding, a Kundan necklace set with a matching maang tikka or passa works best. For Diwali, Karva Chauth or Navratri, a lighter Kundan set or a pair of Kundan jhumkas is easier to wear all evening.

Is Sirini jewellery real gold?

No. Every piece is 18–22K gold plating over a brass or copper base — fashion and imitation jewellery, not solid gold, diamond, or natural gemstones. We say this plainly on every product page because the look is meant to stand in for fine jewellery, not to be mistaken for it.

Where is it made?

In our own workshop in Santacruz West, Mumbai. Sirini Jewellery was founded in 2017 by Nishit Savla and manufactures its own pieces — stones are hand-set and each piece is checked before dispatch. You can also visit the Mumbai showroom in person.

How long does the gold plating last?

With regular wear and reasonable care, typically 1–3 years, and considerably longer for pieces worn only occasionally. Plating is a surface layer, so lifespan depends on wear: perfume, sweat, water and friction all wear it faster. Put jewellery on last, take it off first, and store pieces dry and separately.

Is this jewellery suitable for weddings and daily wear?

Both, with a caveat. Our heavier bridal designs are built for occasion wear — weddings, sangeet, mehendi, receptions and festivals. Lighter pieces from Daily Wear are the ones we'd recommend for everyday use, since constant contact wears any plated finish faster than occasional wear does.
