What is Sirini Jewellery?
Sirini Jewellery is a Mumbai-based jewellery brand, handcrafted in our own workshop in Santacruz West since 2017. We design and make Kundan, Meenakari, bridal and gold-plated fashion jewellery — sold online across India and from our retail store in Santacruz West, Mumbai.
Where is Sirini Jewellery located?
Our workshop and retail store are in Santacruz West, Mumbai (Hi Life Mall, Phirozshah Mehta Road, Santacruz West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400054). Online orders ship anywhere in India — see the shipping questions below for details.
Does Sirini manufacture its own jewellery, or resell imported pieces?
We manufacture. Every Sirini piece starts on the workbench of our own Mumbai workshop — the Kundan settings and Meenakari enamel work are done in-house, not mass-imported.
Is Sirini jewellery made of real gold?
No — Sirini pieces are high-quality gold-plated fashion jewellery. The base metal is brass or copper, coated with 18–22K gold plating. They are not solid gold, but are crafted to look and feel luxurious at an accessible price.
What is Kundan jewellery?
Kundan is a traditional Indian jewellery technique where flat-backed glass or synthetic stones are set into gold-toned mounts using a lac (resin) base, rather than claw-set the way diamonds usually are. It produces the layered, richly detailed look associated with Indian bridal and festive jewellery. Sirini's Kundan pieces use this setting style in gold-plated fashion jewellery, not precious stones or solid gold.
What is Meenakari jewellery?
Meenakari is the art of hand-painting or firing coloured enamel onto metal jewellery, usually on the reverse side of a piece or worked into the design alongside Kundan stonework. It's a centuries-old Indian craft traditionally paired with Kundan, giving pieces their characteristic pops of colour. Sirini's Meenakari pieces are hand-finished in our Mumbai workshop.
What is the difference between Kundan and Polki jewellery?
Both use a similar flat-set, lac-backed mounting style, but the stones are different: Polki uses uncut natural diamonds, making it fine/precious jewellery. In modern fashion jewellery — including Sirini's collection — "Kundan" refers to that same setting style using glass or synthetic stones instead. Sirini specialises in Kundan-style gold-plated fashion jewellery, not Polki or other precious-stone jewellery.
How long does the gold plating last?
With proper care, the gold plating on Sirini jewellery typically lasts 1–3 years with regular wear, and considerably longer for pieces worn occasionally. Avoid contact with water, perfume, sweat and harsh chemicals to maximise the life of the plating.
How do I care for my Sirini jewellery?
Put your jewellery on last — after makeup, perfume and lotion have dried — and take it off first when you return home. Keep pieces away from water, sweat and chemicals. After wearing, gently wipe each piece with a soft dry microfibre cloth. Store in the pouch or box provided, separately from other jewellery to avoid scratches.
Are Kundan and Meenakari pieces suitable for daily wear?
Kundan and Meenakari pieces, with their intricate stone settings and enamel work, are best reserved for festive and occasional wear to keep them looking their best. Our simpler gold-plated bangles, rings and stud earrings are better suited to daily wear.
Will the jewellery tarnish or turn my skin green?
Gold-plated fashion jewellery can tarnish over time if exposed to water, sweat, perfume and humidity — that's normal for the category, not a defect. To keep pieces bright and avoid any skin discolouration, wear them last, take them off before washing or sleeping, wipe with a soft dry cloth after use, and store them in the pouch provided away from moisture.
Is Sirini jewellery safe for sensitive skin?
Most customers with sensitive skin wear our gold-plated pieces comfortably, as the plating sits over a brass or copper base rather than raw nickel. That said, everyone's skin is different — if you have a known metal allergy, we recommend short initial wear and keeping pieces dry, since moisture and sweat are the main triggers for irritation.
Do the jewellery pieces look exactly like the photos?
We photograph every piece under natural light to show the most accurate colour and detail. Slight variations in stone shade or finish may occur, as these are handcrafted pieces — this is what makes each one unique. If you have any concerns after receiving your order, contact us and we will make it right.
How do I find the right ring or bangle size?
Each product page includes a size guide. For rings, wrap a thin strip of paper around your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimetres — that is your circumference. For bangles, measure around the widest part of your hand (knuckles) when folded. If you are between sizes, size up for bangles.
