Antique gold finish is a matte, slightly darkened gold plating, not a bright polish. The recessed detail stays dark while the raised surfaces catch the light, so carved, layered and temple-style designs read clearly. It is also called a mehendi finish or antique polish, and it is the look associated with heirloom and South Indian jewellery.
What is antique gold finish jewellery made of?
At Sirini it is gold plating over a brass or copper base, toned darker on purpose. These are gold-plated fashion jewellery and imitation jewellery pieces, not solid gold, diamond or precious metal. Every piece in this collection is handcrafted in Sirini's own Mumbai workshop, founded by Nishit Savla in 2017.
What you can buy in antique finish
Antique gold-plated ring sets and Kundan rings from Rs 680, maang tikkas, chandelier earrings, haar and long haar sets, kadas, groom kalgis, Polki-style pearl bridal passa and Kundan haathphool. Antique finish pairs naturally with silk sarees, Kanjeevarams and traditional bridal wear.
Antique finish or bright gold finish?
Choose antique finish for heavy, detailed bridal and temple-style pieces and for an heirloom look in photographs. Choose a bright polish for a lighter, more modern look with gowns and indo-western outfits. Many brides wear antique finish for the wedding itself and brighter pieces for the reception.

About Antique Gold
What is the difference between an antique finish and a bright gold finish?
An antique, or mehendi, finish is a darkened matte gold plating. The recessed detail stays dark while raised areas catch the light, so carved designs read more clearly than on a bright polish.
What outfits suit an antique gold finish?
The darker matte tone looks good with deeper saree and lehenga colours such as maroon, bottle green and navy. With pastels, a brighter gold finish usually looks lighter.
Is Sirini jewellery real gold?
No. Every piece is 18–22K gold plating over a brass or copper base — fashion and imitation jewellery, not solid gold, diamond, or natural gemstones. We say this plainly on every product page because the look is meant to stand in for fine jewellery, not to be mistaken for it.
Where is it made?
In our own workshop in Santacruz West, Mumbai. Sirini Jewellery was founded in 2017 by Nishit Savla and manufactures its own pieces — stones are hand-set and each piece is checked before dispatch. You can also visit the Mumbai showroom in person.
How long does the gold plating last?
With regular wear and reasonable care, typically 1–3 years, and considerably longer for pieces worn only occasionally. Plating is a surface layer, so lifespan depends on wear: perfume, sweat, water and friction all wear it faster. Put jewellery on last, take it off first, and store pieces dry and separately.
Is this jewellery suitable for weddings and daily wear?
Both, with a caveat. Our heavier bridal designs are built for occasion wear — weddings, sangeet, mehendi, receptions and festivals. Lighter pieces from Daily Wear are the ones we'd recommend for everyday use, since constant contact wears any plated finish faster than occasional wear does.
