The maang tikka hangs on a chain along the hair parting, with a hook that anchors into the hair and a pendant that rests on the forehead. Handcrafted in Sirini's own Mumbai workshop — the stones are hand-set in the Kundan technique, with foil worked in behind each one; the antique finish is a darkened plating that brings out the carved detail; and the pearls are strung by hand.

How to wear it

Hook it into the hair at the crown so the pendant sits centred on the parting, just above the browline. Pair with a choker or a necklace set in the same stone colour; add a passa at the side for a fuller bridal look.

Care

Keep this white maang tikka away from water, perfume and sweat — moisture can get behind the Kundan foil and dull it permanently. The pendant sits close to the skin at the hairline, so let any face cream or sunscreen dry fully before hooking it in. Wipe with a dry cloth after wear and store it flat in its pouch.
