Festive Kundan Jhumkas

A festive Kundan jhumka, and one of our steadiest sellers. The jhumka is the bell-shaped earring at the heart of traditional Indian jewellery — a domed lower body that swings from a fixed top, so it catches light with every turn of the head.

This pair is handcrafted in Sirini's own Mumbai workshop. The stones are hand-set in the Kundan technique, with foil worked in behind each one so it reads as a flat field of light rather than faceted sparkle, and the reverse is finished rather than left raw.

How to wear it

Jhumkas of this weight pair best with a choker or a mid-length necklace rather than a long rani haar — two heavy pieces at similar heights compete around the face. If you are wearing them for several hours, a kaan chain hooked into the hair takes the weight off the lobe.

Care

Keep away from water, perfume and sweat — moisture can get behind the Kundan foil and dull it permanently. Put jewellery on last and take it off first, wipe with a dry soft cloth only, and store in a pouch away from other pieces. Plating and polish are covered by a 1-year warranty.
