Festive Temple Drop Earrings

The Festive Temple Drop Earrings are a compact pair of temple-style drops, with a carved goddess motif on the top and a short fluted bell hanging below — close South Indian temple jewellery on a scale you can wear all evening.

Made by hand at Sirini's workshop in Santacruz West, Mumbai. The temple faces are die-struck and then hand-finished, and each drop is riveted so it swings freely from the stud.

How to wear it

Temple pieces read best against a plain neckline, so keep the necklace small or skip it and let a maang tikka carry the top of the look. They also sit happily next to oxidised silver if you mix a temple pendant on a black thread.

Care

Keep it away from water, perfume and sweat, put it on last and take it off first, and wipe it with a dry soft cloth before storing it apart from your other pieces. The bell is where the plating rubs thin first, so lift it clear when you set the pair down. Plating and polish are covered by a 1-year warranty.
