Navratri Meenakari Choodiyan

Hand-painted Meenakari choodiyan — bangles worn as a stack rather than singly. Meenakari is a centuries-old enamelling craft: coloured, glass-like enamel is applied to the metal by hand and then fired, building up the deep jewel-toned patterns colour by colour.

Because each colour is applied and fired in stages, Meenakari work is slower than plain stone-setting, and no two bangles come off the bench identically. Handcrafted in Sirini's own Mumbai workshop.

How to wear it

Choodiyan are meant to be stacked — several together up the forearm, optionally with a heavier kada anchoring the stack. They are a good choice for garba and dandiya specifically, because bangles stay secure through movement in a way a long swinging necklace does not.

Care

Enamel is glass and will chip on impact, so store bangles separately rather than loose in a box. Keep away from water and perfume, and wipe with a dry soft cloth only. Plating and polish are covered by a 1-year warranty.
