Traditional White Stone Studded Kalangi

The Traditional White Stone Studded Kalangi is a plume-shaped hair brooch in clear stones and pearls that stands upright from the hair, echoing the feather-shaped kalgi of Mughal turbans.

Made by hand at Sirini’s Santacruz West workshop in Mumbai; each stone is foil-set one at a time.

How to wear it

Pin it upright into a bun or a braid so the plume stands. Keep to one hair ornament — the kalgi or a maang tikka, not both large.

Care

Moisture is what dulls the plating and the foil behind the stones — put the piece on last, take it off first, and wipe it only with a dry soft cloth. The upright shape bends under weight — store it on top of other pieces, not beneath. Store it flat in its own pouch. Plating and polish are covered by a 1-year warranty.
